How the tracking works
How does Downstox track analyst calls?+
Every buy/sell call captured from TV channels (via on-screen OCR) and financial-news RSS feeds is logged with its entry, target and stoploss. When a source gives only a direction without printed levels, Downstox derives a standard target and stoploss from the entry price and horizon — those rows are marked "auto" below. A tracking worker then checks the live market price every few seconds during market hours: if the price reaches the target first, the call is a win; if it hits the stoploss first, a loss; calls that do neither within their horizon expire. No human judgement is involved.
Do TV analyst stock tips actually work?+
The data on this page answers that per source. Win rate = targets hit ÷ (targets hit + stoplosses hit). For calls marked "auto", the win reflects a standard derived level rather than the analyst's own printed target. Most retail traders never go back and check whether a TV call worked — this page does it automatically and keeps the full history.
