About Downstox

Downstox is an independent, bootstrapped Indian-markets publication founded by Dev Vaghani. We cover Indian equities, derivatives, and personal finance with a focus on actionable data and clear analysis — without paywalls, without commercial conflicts of interest, and without recycled press releases.

Downstox is a media publication, not a SEBI-registered investment advisor. Our reporting and analysis are for informational and educational purposes only and do not constitute investment advice.

Sourcing & accuracy

  • All factual claims are sourced — primary sources (NSE, BSE, RBI, SEBI, company filings) are preferred over secondary reporting.
  • When secondary sources are used, they are linked or named in the article.
  • Market data (prices, indices, returns) is sourced from NSE/BSE feeds with disclosed delay characteristics.
  • Quotes from analysts, executives, or officials are attributed with name and affiliation.
  • AI-assisted writing tools are used in some research and editing workflows; all published content is reviewed by an editorial desk before publication.

Bylines & accountability

Every article carries a visible byline — either a named editor (Dev Vaghani as Editor-in-Chief) or a named editorial desk (Markets Desk, Macro Desk, or Sectors Desk). Each desk has a published coverage mandate on the Authors page.

Conflict of interest

  • Downstox does not accept money, securities, or other consideration from companies in exchange for coverage.
  • Downstox does not run paid sponsored articles dressed up as news. Sponsored content (when accepted) is clearly labelled.
  • The founder owns equity in Downstox itself but does not actively trade individual stocks during the publishing window of articles that cover those stocks.
  • Where any commercial relationship exists with a company under coverage, it is disclosed in the article.

Corrections policy

We correct material errors openly. If a published article contains a factual error:

  • The correction is made inline in the article.
  • A "Correction" or "Update" note at the top of the article describes what was changed and when.
  • The article's dateModified timestamp is updated, visible on the page and in our schema.org markup.
  • Substantive corrections that affect the conclusion of the article are also flagged with an editor's note.

To request a correction, email dev.vaghani@downstox.com with the article URL and the specific factual issue.

Independence

Downstox is wholly owned by its founder. We have no parent company, no PE/VC investors, and no brokerage / asset-management affiliates whose interests editorial coverage might be expected to serve. Hosting and infrastructure costs are paid from founder capital.
